چکیده
Background Dietary habits and Physical Activity (PA) are two pivotal features of healthy life in terms the prevention treatment metabolic chronic disease [1] . Few data available concerning these issues isolated Sjӧgren’s syndrome (SS) patients [2] Objectives Aim study was to assess level PA, adherence Mediterranean diet (MD) nutritional status Italian with SS. Methods Consecutive SS (AECG criteria 2002) were enrolled. For each patient ESSDAI, ESSPRI, SSDDI calculated. The value focus score obtained minor salivary gland biopsy (MSG), when performed. International Questionnaire (IPAQ) administered physical activity; Diet (MDiet) [3] employed analyse (the spans from 0 - no 55 maximum adherence). In a subgroup 26 patients, dietary evaluated daily food diary. Sarcopenia, muscle failure that accrue across lifetime, identified by diagnostic algorithm [4] age-differentiated cut-offs; Hand Grip test (HGT) Chair Stand (CST) used as screening tests, Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DEXA) confirm quantify Appendicular Skeletal Mass (ASM, kg/m 2 ). muscular performance (6-minutes Walking Test – 6MWT) measured grading sarcopenia. Statistical analysis performed SPSS. Results 130 pSS enrolled showed moderate (median MDiet = 33, third quintile) played moderately PA MET x min/wk second tertile). No significant associations found between BMI, clinimetric index (ESSDAI, SSDDI). BMI higher older (R 0.96, p 0.02). 16 out subjects (61%) reduction strength (HGT and/or CST) therefore condition probable sarcopenia but only 6 (23%) be sarcopenic (ASM). Only one had 6MWT less than 10% predicted reduced min/wk. Patients’ consisted 43% total energy coming carbohydrate, fat represented 40% intake, remaining 17% proteins. Fat consumption is complex carbohydrates intake lower compared levels nutrient for population [5] Conclusion This preliminary considering women shows MD similar what previously reported general female Europe (32.5 ± 5 DS) [6] Moreover, results subgroup, seem have an unbalanced because foods recommended Diet. A possible explanation fats may lubricating effect aiding mastication swallowing. It can hypothesized might partly responsible increasing damage associated mass. Nutritional status of patients with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome.
Nutritional status may be an important factor in the prognosis of morbidity and mortality. We assessed the nutritional status of individuals seropositive for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) (as confirmed by Western blot) and of patients with AIDS, by determining the concentration in serum of total protein, albumin, prealbumin (transthyretin), and retinol-binding protein. HIV-seropositive ind...
متن کامل[Nutritional status in patients with recurrent glioblastoma].
INTRODUCTION Nutritional status is a major clinical parameter in multiple cancers. Indeed, nutritional status is a prognostic factor and a predictor of response and toxicity to treatments in breast and lung cancers for instance. To our knowledge, in patients suffering from malignant primary brain tumors, nutritional status has been poorly investigated. METHODS Nutritional status of 26 gliobla...

BACKGROUND Some chronic diseases have been associated to an impairment of nutritional status. OBJECTIVE To analyze nutritional status and its relation to dietary intake, disease activity and treatment in rheumatoid arthritis. PATIENTS AND METHODS We have included 93 patients (43 men and 50 women) and 93 age- and sex-matched healthy controls. The assessment of nutritional status included ant...
